Violet Fuller has been through a lot in her short life.
After being viciously attacked, she’s hidden herself away from the world for the past five years, fearing everyone and everything. That’s until the day she finally gathers the courage to go outside.
Violet decides to take a job at her brother Ash’s new gym, Pulse, to reacquaint herself with the male dominated world of MMA. She used to be her brother’s biggest supporter, going to all his matches and cheering him on. There’s no one he trusts more to help him run the admin side of his new business, but when Violet walks through the door for the first time, she sees someone she wasn’t expecting.
Handsome, AUFC fighter, Lincoln Hayes.
The same Lincoln Hayes that she’s had a crush on since she was sixteen.
All muscled, disciplined, hot as hell, six-foot two of him. He’s definitely not a boy anymore.
Things are about to become more difficult than Violet had hoped. So much for easing back into reality.
And Lincoln? He’s only got one thing on his mind.
How do you win over a woman who is afraid of everything?
That was a one depressing yet sweet read. From being the weak adult to over coming her fears, Violet Fuller has inspired me all through out this book. Though there were times when I think that she is taking it a bit too much and is over thinking everything I still think she’s quiet a brave girl to try and do not just what makes the people around her proud but also to make herself feel strong, proud and happy.
I thought that Lincoln is just the perfect guy for V. He’s understanding, though that’s a given since he knows what happened to her but still, I think he’d be the same gentleman he is with her if he didn’t know. He’s obviously very protective though at times he’s a bit over the top and he is obviously in love with her. Like, really in love with her and I love that this book shows how he fucks up. It’s the very real thing about the book. Men fucks up and Lincoln sure did. Even before this book progressed he’s already fucking and I actually sympathized with V and thought how naïve she was.
The book was very well done for me. The story line felt good and the ending was satisfactory. I just thought the plot could’ve improved a little bit cause its about the same twists as some of the books I’ve read. Maybe a better reconciliation? A little groveling then a cheesy ending would’ve marked it for me. But, great job for Amity and this 4 stars is very much deserved.
